As the picture shows, the course is covered in snow and also closed at the moment, its a shame as we have a match against a local club tomorrow in the first round of the Mail on Sunday competition. It seems very early in the year to start but I guess its because there are so many entrants. The forecast seems to be similar for the next week. We need a little rain are a decent rise in temperature I think before we are open again, so we could be closed for a while.
I have managed to play quite a lot in the week before this spell of weather, including a nice visit to Formby Ladies again, last weekend. Unfortunately it was carry bags only and as I have found before carrying doent help me, I started great, 17 points after 7 holes but sadly the carrying took its toll and I only scored 11 points on the remaining 11 holes.
I nearly had my first eagle last week too, my second shot finished up only 2 feet from the hole on out par 5 11th, sadly we were on temporary greens and the hole I was close to was on the normal green, I will have to hope I can repeat it when the season starts then I might actually get an eagle.
I now the proud owner of an electric trolley, thanks to Christmas and early birthday money from mum, it does make a diference and is a lot easier than my old pull trolley.
In other news I have put myself forward for election to the committee, I was a bit worried that it muight seem pushy, with me being a new member, but a few chats with a few of the more senior members, 2 of who proposed and seconded me, I will see what happens at the AGM in March.
Finally, in the last week the honours boards have been updated to show last seasons winners, so I am now on the boards :)
